Hey there friends,
We hope you have been doing well and keeping healthy.
If you have followed Platform For Artists since its infancy, you might have noticed that it has been treading down quite unstable since the lockdown. After a significant shift in our team configuration and our mode of functioning, we have been experimenting for quite a while with different projects. Our interaction with the community has also evolved, we have always tried to act in the best interest of the community and cater to their dynamic needs.
We have always been strong advocates for creator monetization and financial empowerment. We understand how commerce and creativity must run together to sustain the community. Though we have carried on small workshops and campaigns to enable the same in the past, now we wanted to do something on a large scale.
We wanted to revamp our PFA community as a talent community and actively help the community in landing jobs and resources. The initial framework was in place. We hired an additional team of four across verticles for the same. And after months of research and planning and a month of rigorous execution-oriented work, we finally launched the new model. We did struggle a bit to keep up with the changes. There was some hurdle of the other every day.
The team though tight-knit was not yet familiar and responsive to each other’s work styles. There was also a lag in vision on the part of a few. Amidst all this, one of our new team members decided to leave. This strongly affected the team morale and our overall strength both material and moral. The functioning became even more tricky.
We felt we were continuing with the project not because we were passionately driven by it but out of obligation.
We did not want this tumultuous time to affect our hard-earned community, and neither did we want to deliver you complacent work. Over a series of difficult meetings, we decided to halt the project until we were better prepared and had greater access to resources.
We did not know how to bring this to you. We wanted to be transparent but could not understand how to do so without being vulnerable. We did not know how much to tell you and when. We were coming to terms with our failure; noting down mistakes we made, and inefficiencies we let slide. We also found ourselves stuck in the middle of the road, clueless about how to move ahead.
Clueless if at all we should move forward. So we took a pause.
We reconsidered what we were doing, why we were doing it, and how it aligned with our larger vision. Thankfully, we have found clarity now and the courage to finally talk to you.
We have always announced our successes with ardent enthusiasm and conviction. This time we are informing you about our failure, perhaps with the same enthusiasm because this failure taught us more than many successes could have.
And also because we owe this to you, our community members.
Thank you for your support till here and we will come back stronger.
Thank you for reading till the end and for your continued faith and support. If you are willing to help us or volunteer in any capacity please reply to this email.

Well, I have not been familiar to this platform for a long time but my heart does go out to this platform because I know the hardwork it takes to build something and seeing it become vulnerable hurts. I hope this platform bounces back and it sees heights because I know that it certainly deserves it.
